Topomax for seizure?
I have tried other anti-seizure drugs most recently carbazephine but it made me nauseated 24/7.
So now my doctor have prescribed me topomax. He started me out on 100 mg's and 3 weeks later I am on 200 mgs a day. (Thank goodness for med benefits... this stuff is not cheap!)
I am not nauseated. However I cant sleep, I cant get through, I cant focus on anything. I am normally a calm person, but presently I am anxious all the time. I am afraid I might lose it and hurt someone... LOL
My question is Will my body adapt? next to this anxious feeling ever go away? My next check up beside neurologist is in 3 weeks.

try cutting down to 100 mgs, or taking 150take one pill and open the other and lug half of the other with plenty of water.

im on topomax too but of migraine prevention, never heard of it for seazures b4 and only 15mgs
Topamax is one of the better modern seizure medication. However, like all seizure medication, they can be quite unpleasant to take. Side effects -usually- diminish, but Topamax is notorious for reducing your appetite, and making a fairly wide variety of things taste undeniably awful. This is not a medication I am particularly familiar with, but you're starting out on relatively illustrious doses, and I would expect the sleep problems to diminish as you get adjusted, likewise for the anxiety. I'm not going to stick a guarantee on that though.
There are abundantly of very serious risks with epilepsy, and sometimes you may have to put up near unpleasant side effects. However, there are dozens upon dozens of seizure medications available. If this one is lately too unpleasant to take, your neurologist should be able to suggest something else.
