Can I drink a shot or two past a chalazion surgery?

Answers:
You should never drink or eat anything 12 hours before surgery. Because of the anesthesia, you may enjoy nausea afterwards and that is not a pretty sight.
I really do not know can you drink? You are experienced of drinking but i really advise against it. There may be unforeseen affects of it. I really think that you should not and that you should ask your doctor just about it... I have no idea what a chalazion surgery is... So yeah talk to him but i would read aloud no to be safe
I don't guess so.
I wouldn't even try.
Good luck with your surgery!
Why? Won't they give you some kindly of anesthesia? And what's a chalazion? I wouldn't think that's a good idea.
It's important not to drink before surgery for a few reasons. One, the alcohol slows the stomach empty time down. The contents of your stomach would be hanging around too close to surgery. If you are going under general anesthesia next to a tube down your throat, this could lead to aspiration (inhaling the stomach contents.) Also the alcohol can interfere with the anesthetics, making them more potent. You may be just have local anesthesia for your surgery, but you never know what that may progress to, so it's best to prepare for general. You won't need to drink. If you're anxious just inform the preop nurse or anesthesiologist/nurse anesthetist. They will provide you with anti anxiety medications if necessary. Good luck!
