True or false? merely the parotid remuneration gland produces mucus?

please help
Answers:
False, the parotid gland doesn't even produce mucus. The parotid gland produces serous fluid, which is watery. I can think of several examples that do produce mucus though-sublingual, submandibular. The GI system and reproductive system also produce mucus. Source(s): anatomy and cell biology classes
False.

I read your cross-examine as "Only the parotid gland produces mucus." There are many other mucus membranes in your body. An easy one is the inside of the nares (nose), which are where on earth "boogers" come from. Boogers don't come from the parotid gland, and something other than the parotid gland obviously produces mucus, so I'm going with "false."
True, adjectives the salivary glands do, however the parotid does to a much lesser extent, but still does. Source(s): med student
