Could superglue be used to label something that would be contained by contact beside marine (for human consumption)?
The water would be in contact for no more than half an hour, but at hand could be a lot of it. Would the water cause the superglue to slump apart? Would the superglue cause the water to be unsafe to drink?
Answers:
i would hold thought that once it was dry it would be ok, but why would you want to? Not sure whether i'd want to chance it. I wouldn't want to consume water once anything have been in it!
Well, two years ago my grandson dropped an ash tray that lone one visitor uses. It smashed into 2 pieces and I superglued it together. I use it to hold a bar of soap in the kitchen, that company uses it occasionally. It's been washed many times and is still holding together - and is watertight.
It is safe to use superglue, as long as the item is not going to be soaking surrounded by hot water for any length of time. I've used it myself, in fact cold river helps it to set and there's no danger to health.
I will not advice it although I don't see it as really toxic. The precautions on the pack should say so.
