For studying and qualify to be a psychiatrist do you hold to hold a level within Medical Science?
Or is a Psychology degree acceptable?
Is a degree surrounded by Psychology good enough and is it as valued as a Medical degree for becoming a Psychiatrist?
Answers:
They're completely different. A psychiatrist is a physician who's specialized contained by that field. Medical school is a must. A doctorate in psychology is a wonderful entity and it seems to be a great profession, but it isn't medical.
I am afraid not. In the UK, BSc or higher degrees surrounded by Psychology would not value a medical degree (MBBS, MBBCh, BM, MBBChir, MD etc.) with specialist training within psychiatry.
In the work field, psychology is healthcare sciences while psychiatry is a medical physician.
I hope that helps.
