Get yourself down to UWE. That's where I'm studying it. Your testimonial are enough, try for some experience too. A little volunteer work in care or first aid event cover. I did work as an ECA earlier this and have done 3 years front line before going on the course. Its pious. Its different every day and you meet lots of interesting people. There is like mad of responsibility as a paramedic though and you must be committed to life-long learning as my mentor tells me. Be prepared for a little stick of some of the paras though. Many don't agree beside us as 'para students' and think we should learn it on the job. They don't seem to be to realise that its the ONLY way to do it now and that many of us DID wok for a service earlier. email me if you need any more help.
To be a paramedic you actually want to take a college program. I don't know of any university paramedicine programs.
As for qualifications, it all depends on where on earth you go. You will most likely need your CPR-C (basic CPR) and first aid to gain into the program (same with nursing), to pass a fitness test, drivers license, and an admission test (as well as your high arts school diploma).
The job is very demanding. There's a lot of lifting, waiting around surrounded by hospitals, quick thinking, fast actions, paperwork etc. but it's fun, for the most division. I really enjoy it. The other people I work with are incredible and some of the situations you see are devastating and you simply have to be prepared for anything. There are many rewarding parts of the job, but I believe you really hold to love this and be interested in it.
I'm not sure where you live, but I would research what the admission requirements for respectively college are wherever you want to go and make sure you enjoy them! It sounds like you are well on your way near your courses so far. I hope this helped!
Good luck!
