About my mom-in-law's partial meniscectomy surgery?

my mom had a partial meniscectomy surgery about a month ago but she is finding the locking of the knee problem to be repeated. i want to know what are the chances of it? how much time will it take to be completely normal as she is 45 yrs out-of-date? we are going to kashmir in few days so will it be safe for her to travel in train that too for full 2 days?
