When you donate blood what type of blood work info will they distribute you?
Just to start off, I know I have seen advertisement for the Florida blood bank (I think it is) that you get a free blood screening or something when you donate.
My doctor wishes me to get some labwork done that cost $700 without insurance. Testosterone and thyroid tests. If I donate blood will they distribute me these numbers or can I work it in for them to do them.
Its just an idea.
Answers:
They question paper for different diseases that could be transmitted through blood like HIV, West Nile Virus etc. I've never heard of anyone getting testosterone or thyroid tests through a blood center or American Red Cross. I hold donated about 10 times over the last 2-3 years and have never received any info bar blood type and platelet level (because it was high ample that I could do a double donation the next time if I wanted to).
There was a university close at hand me that would have blood draws and would give you cholesterol and thyroid information for $35. I don't know if you could have any other test done or not. But if there is a college or community college in the area-you might want to check with them and see if they enjoy any days like that.
I don't think they test for blood smooth of testosterone and thyroid function test when you donate blood. At the most you can get to know the your blood group from blood donation.Check out www.lifelinescreening.com i found this website while browsing.I have never used them so i don't know much around them.
Hope it helps. Source(s): www.lifelinescreening.com
