Is using the hydrocortisone topical liniment alike as taking the hydrocortisone oral tablets?
Answers:
The oral tablets are considered "systemic" which means they enter your blood supply and can effect many body systems (stomach, kidneys etc). The topical ointment just works on the area you put it on, on the skin, on the outside of your body. While a very small amount can be absorbed through the skin, it will not create any major side effects like hypertension. You should be fine. The only leading thing about the ointment is that you are not supposed to use it on your frontage. Source(s): nursing school
