Headache.. A Doryx side effect?
I just started on doryx yesterday.. and today i had a TREMENDOUS headache & i never get headache. Could this be a side effect of the medicine? Also, if it is.. has anyone else experienced this side effect?

It's not a documented side effect, but that's not to say it can't occur either. Inform your prescribing Physician. Source(s): Pharmacist
Anytime you experience a serious, new sensation after starting a new drug (like have a severe headache), the first thing you do is contact your doctor. Or your pharmacist. Both can tell you about the side-effects and whether or not you should perservere. Some drugs enjoy transient side effects that simply signal that the drug is in your system and beginning to work and will pass.
Other side effects are not expected, are too severe and indicate that the drug is not right for you.
DORYX (doxycycline hyclate) Delayed-Release Tablets, for oral control, contain specially coated pellets of doxycycline hyclate, a broad-spectrum antibiotic synthetically derived from oxytetracycline, in a delayed-release formulation for oral administration.
Headache is not described as a adjectives side effect--I would definately chat with my doctor or pharmacist for their advice. It could simply be a rather uncomfortable coincidence. Source(s): I teach nurses
