Best place to own a surgical procedure?

If you were critically ill and the only odds was surgery, where in the world would you close to the operation to take place and why? If you find the question too shallow, then please quality free to make up some surgery to help answer my question. :]

This is mostly out of curiosity to see what family say, by the way.
Answers:
america because they are set for being quite advanced with medication and medical procedures
Medical "tourism" isn't a great conception.

If you have complications, you can't just hop on a plane, fly 12+ hours to India, etc.

If I have a problem post-op (which can start no matter how good the doctor), I want to see the doc that knows me & my case/history. Source(s): vascular surgery PA
I find this question not shallow at adjectives! :D
Very interesting!
Before a few weeks ago, I would have said, "America, duh."
But after seeing a segment on medical tourism on 20/20 (an American news show [in case you don't live within the U.S.]) my eyes were opened about medical standards and costs around the world.
It's true that American drug and surgeons are of the best in the world, but also, it's extremely expensive, even the most seemingly mundane surgery.
In the show, they focused a lot on India, and how their doctors are just as qualified and resourcefully trained as American doctors, but they are paid less than a third of the salary. And operation which may cost 100k+ in the U.S. cost 10k in India.
Whether it's too pricey where you live, you'd enjoy to wait too long to have the surgery, or you simply don't have impossible to tell apart access to the surgery in your country, India offers the solution.
They even have companies which will set up adjectives your travel plans, operation, room and board, and even some sight seeing trips, like a mini-vacation!

Anyways, if I was critically in poor health, the only option was surgery, and I could not suffer to put my family hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, INDIA is the place for me. :D

Google "medical tourism" for more info!! Good question!
