Does LPN's(licensed practical nurses) hold to verbs the bowls out of patients butts?

My friend once told me when he was in the hospital and have to go into surgery they had to plush out his bowels, and pretty soon as well. So the nurses put some sort of cream/injection/stuff contained by his sphincter and he jjust came pouring out. Dunno how it works.
