Vicodin Question on Overdose?
I have 5mg/500mg hydrocodone pills and i wanted to know how many i could run before od? cause one isnt doing anything for me

2 wouldn't hurt. However, you do want to watch any more than that. The 500 is acetaminophen and too much of that can bring down your kidneys.
Well I would recommend you settle to your doctor and let him know the Vicodon is not working well. 1,000mg at one time and 4,000/day is the max for the APAP. After that dose you really could disfavour your liver, especially when taken for a longer period of time. But on rare occasions population have had major problems from a single small overdose of APAP. The Hydrocodone starts be an OD when your body can not tolerate it and bp and respiration drops. For Vicodin and other hydrocodone containing drugs the max # of pills is base on the APAP not hyrdrocodone.

sometimes i take 5 or 6 basically because i have a high tolerance now. but then, my kidneys reeeaaally hurt!! well, im not dead so apperantly 6 is not an od. hope this helps!

Try taking 2 of the hydrocodone pills every 4-6 hours or however often the doctor prescribed it. Usually it is prescribed every 4-6 hours, depending on your pain smooth. The important thing is not to wait too deferred before taking the pain medication. If one dose does not work, take it again when it is time, close to 4 hours. Take it as scheduled until your pain eases up. This will build up a even of pain medication in your system so that you will not be in misery. When you feel the pain coming back, walk ahead and take it again. Do not wait until you are in severe or excruciating anguish, because then your pain level will be too soaring and the medication will not work.
It is not a good idea to take more than 2 hydrocodone at a time. It can result in serious problems, from dizziness, nausea, even unconsciousness.
If the pain medication is not working at adjectives, even after taking 2 pills, then you should call your doctor to see if he can prescribe you a different pain medication.
