Safe to disappear bp medication so in haste?

my son went to the doctors office and the doctor told him that he can stop taking blood pressure pills because he is at a good number and is excessing alot and staying a obedient diet. The problem is that he been taking them for 2 years and I was wondering if it is safe to in recent times suddenly quit all on the first day.
Answers:
it's not usually secure to quit cold turkey. You should gradually lower the dosage every week or so until you get down to quitting
It depends on the medication. Certain meds have serious rebound consequences when they're stopped abruptly.
I think the doctor shouldnt only just say stop immediatly. I think he should slowly decrease doses. resembling for example from 100mg to 50mg to 25mg to 0mg. Taking a low dose plus a healthy diet can help the body adjust to change. Remember the body doesnt approaching big changes, like if your a person who eat a 3000 calorie diet and all of the sudden the next day you put away a 1000 calorie diet you will develop headache bc (lower sugar levels, electrolytes etc) your body is not adjusted to the change, i hope i am making sense. But when I took pharmacology I remember my proff. unfolding me that some withdraw symptoms from drugs can cause shock or even siezures, but BP meds might not cause withdrawl side effects resembling this but just to let you know these are my opinions and leisurely gett off of them. Tell him to cut it in half for a coulple of days or so...and stop afterwards.
