Scared to give somebody a lift my foreign medication! assistance?

ive been having issues with my tart reflex and nausa. so my doctor perscribed metoclopramide 5mg tablet. i wasnt so happy with it. it did help near my nausa but the side effects were awful with the dizziness and the drowsiness. now he perscribed a up to date pill promethazine 25mg that he told me to cut in half. but ive been chitchat the metoclopramide. i took the metoclopramide today. when should i start my new medicine promethazine. should i start tommorow? or would there be a drug interaction? please relieve!

the two drugs basically do the samething. its like eating 1 claritin and two hours latter you take a zyrtec.
it would be best to take the new medication 24hours after you took the ancient one.
