Sputum. And needles in eyes. That's just creepy.
I'm a hospitalist (internist with a focus in hospital medicine). I approaching the job, it's rewarding, challenging, but limited, I work shifts, and when I'm at home, I receive to rest.
I'm not such a fan of the ever-increasing amount of paperwork that surrounds my job and the liability that comes along with it.
And no, I don't regret choosing this trade.
I'm a retired RN. I have a bachelor's point.

Pros: RN's with a BS degree make more money.
I like the interaction with the patients. Patient teaching was fun.
After my duty time be over, I could go home.
Solving problems for patients was very rewarding.

Con's:
Very few if any breaks, including lunch.
Can be greatly stressful. You need to be able to juggle several activities at once....... and never lose your cool.
Some days I go home and just collapsed.


NO regrets. I loved the medical aspect of the field but no way would I be an physician because I also looked-for my own life. Source(s): Me
