Can doctors (GPs and hospital ones) lug sick days approaching other job?

I'm guessing no, and if so what are the 'rules' about medical staff's sick days?

Depends. Office docs can take a year off if they need to, but they're not seeing any patients that day (and thus making no money) plus ethnic group are going to be pretty pissed (either their partners who have to see all of the patients or the patients who don't gain seen).
In the hospital, the answer is that if you can drag yourself in, do the job, and you're not contagious, you come to work, there's no real rule going on for it, it's just a general understanding. If you only just can't come in, then it's usually incumbent on the doctor to find somebody to cover, but this sort of thing seldom happens. I didn't take a single sick day through residency and I haven't since any, but I'm in a group, and it has happened that one of my partner got so ill that hospitalization was required, so we juggled the calendar and found people to cover the shifts. Patients need to be seen.
Many of us work while sick, unless it's just too overwhelming to do so.

I've been sent home sick from work, but enjoy not called in sick since Feb of 1992, when I was contained by labor with my middle child. I have worked with an IV surrounded by place to rehydrate myself from throwing up. Some places that I work do not have a backup anesthesiologist, so if I can't work, procedures are canceled.

I've seen surgeons cancel a morning of surgeries because of illness, but it has to be pretty bad for them to do so. Usually migraines or GI bad health - nobody would EVER cancel for a cold. That's just wimpy.
God yes.

Doctors need to take time off sick merely like everyone else.
Inf act it is even more important for those surrounded by healthcare to take time off work when they are sick as sick people do not necessitate more bugs around them.
UK employment rules cover doctors as well as other workers the same.
It depends on the practice. In some situations it's relatively comfortable to get somebody else to cover the practice. More often, it's nearly impossible. Also, cancelling appointments may or may not be an opportunity. Plus, if I'm not working, I'm not getting paid. It took a few years early contained by my practice to learn to deal with whining patients who weren't nearly as sick as I at the time, but one does conduct operations to adjust.
