How accurate is House?

What do people with a degree surrounded by Medicine think about the TV show House? Is it accurate regarding valid medicine? Or do you have to chuckle and facepalm because they got it adjectives wrong?

I (biologist) thought it was fairly accurate until in one episode they said that toxoplasma gondii be a fungus!
Answers:
Yeah..
Incising a mother's belly..taking out the fetus..taking his liver biopsy to diagnose his condition..putting him back in the uterus..filling it up near saline..and suturing it again so everything goes back to being without blemish normal is as real as lord voldemort..
I'm not a fan of the House series and I'm simply an advanced medicine student but I've seen the show a few times and I had a similar general idea. Overall it shows how complicated can be the diagnosis for some patients what might be sometimes the case but the explanations for the diseases and conditions are sometimes a bit inflated to make it more attractive and I've found myself questioning some explanations and proceedures as economically (I believe once they made a diagnosis of neurocysticercosis only by means of a radiography what of course cannot certify this disease and it's not the middle-of-the-road proceedure to diagnose it). They must have both, medical and TV advisors what makes the result not 100% accurate.
It's hilarious. Hugh Laurie is, after all, a comedian.
There's no chuckle to it. The thinking processes and the management methods are rolling-in-the-floor ridiculous. They make a big deal of tests half-way through the episode that would be routine parts of the entrance orders. The converse is true, as well. They rely on the unreliable, and have relations doing things that somebody in a different department would normally do. I just can't study it on a regular basis.
Can you now go posterior to your pussycat's protozoan-filled poo with a clean conscience?
Every doctor that I have met in college have said a thousand times that that show is medically inaccurate and should not be taken seriously. I only trust the medical shows that are actual re-enactments of real cases on Discovery Health Channel.
I can't watch it short yelling at the TV. (Really annoys my kids)

It is not at all accurate - it is patently ridiculous, in reality. It's about as accurate is Spongebob Squarepants is regarding oceanography.

If you like Hugh Laurie, try finding episodes of "A Bit of Fry and Laurie", "Blackadder" (He's with the sole purpose in some of those), or "Jeeves and Wooster". He does a MUCH better job of playing a comedic British upper class twit than he does as a gruff American doctor with a forced American diction. Source(s): Love Hugh Laurie when he's British, hate the show "House"
It's always lupus
