What is the Cocchlear duct?

Answers:
The cochlear duct (or scala media) is an endolymph filled cavity inside the cochlea of the ear.
The cochlear duct forms a shelf across the cochlea dividing it into two sections, the scala vestibuli and the scala tympani.
The endolymph of the cochlear duct, causes displacement of the basilar membrane, which stimulates the tresses cell receptors of the organ of Corti. This is what allows for sensory hearing in the human ear.
Hope that helps. Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cochlear_du…
