Swine flu: why use antibacterial soap and gel?
i mean its caused by a VIRUS not bacteria, AND its not even living. why is reporters encouraging everyone to do something so stupid? i mean using anti bacterial anything will only create super pathogens which will be even worse than whats going on already. example: streptococcus aureus strain in hospitals

The antibacterial soaps generally also have some virucidal activity, if that'll lower your blood pressure any. And it's probably true that plain soap is only just as good. But the theory is that you're picking up the living virus inside living cells from the respiratory tract of somebody who just now coughed onto the table you had your hands on. It does make sense, it in recent times hasn't been explained very well.
