Why shouldn't you drink beside Paxil?
Answers:
Alcohol is a depressant. Consuming alcohol while taking an antidepressant could counteract each other. Plus both antidepressants and alcohol tend to make you sleepy. Taking both together is a double whammy. Don't do it.
i drank a little over a pint of vodka next to paxil 6days a week for a couple years ,the paxil is a waste of time if you are going to drink I was just as depressed and miserable as i be before i took it plus it messes you up bad take it from someone that hit rock bottom doing this don't do it.
some prescription drugs can be risky when combined with alcohol. consult your doctor.
really, you have to ask. Paxil is an anti-depressant, alcohol is a depressant (regardless of how you feel). You'd be sending your body mixed signals which can lead to big problems. close to even worse psychosomatic symptoms.
I agree beside the liver and upper/downer answers. I take antidepressants. I do drink, but I have to be careful because it's abundantly easier to overdo it when on meds. And if you're depressed you feel HORRIBLE when hungover - i.e. more depressed.
I am guessing that when you say "drink" you anticipate alcohol. Both work on the brain function and could either exacerbate one another or void each other.
It is metabolized in the liver like alcohol and will make you perceive the effects of the alcohol a lot quicker and has more of a chance of dangerous your liver. Generally having one drink will feel like two and have two will feel like four, etc.
because it's a drug? and alcohol and drugs are reccomended to be taken together?
