Why ribose contained by nucleic sour?

Answers:
Good question. Somewhere along the the line God chose ribose to be the one in nucleic bitter and now we are stuck with it. One wonders if on other planets he chose the same sugar or whether it is fructose or xylose elsewhere. It would interesting to know if the genetic code is matching on planet Borg or whether it is different. We will probably never know.
Assuming your talking about the monosaccharide known as ribose. It is not really sector of the nucleic acid, but really used as a 'back bone' to form nucleic acid 'structures' (for lack of a better word), such as RNA. Also, assuming you know the functions of nucleic sharp 'structures', it's simple to see the importances of ribose in association with nucleic acid to form these 'structures'.

In no style, shape or form is ribose even remotely like protein (which aren't even made of nucleic acid... they're made of animo acid). Being a saccharide makes it more of a carbohydrate close to starch or sugar. Source(s): Pharmacy student
The five-carbon nature of this sugar is readily synthesized in the body, but not single that it provides a stable structure to link the nucleic acids.
dna (deoxyribo nucleic acid) simple 9th grade physical science also in 10th grade biology... why do you ask? Source(s): giant school
can i have 10 points
because that is one of the subunits. that's like asking why cream contained by ice cream. if you are asking why that particular sugar then i would hold to say it is due to its shape and charge.
Because Ribose is made out of Proteins and Proteins contain nucleic Acid
