What specific classification of drug is Omeprazole (Omepron) 20mg tab?

I know it is an antiulcerant, but what specific kind of antiulcerant is it? Can you also include its mechanism of action?
Answers:
It's a PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor). That classification should be capable of tell you what mechanism of action it does. Hint: It inhibits proton pumps. lol. Source(s): Pharmacy student.
So, the pharmacy student is correct, surrounded by that it is a PPI or a proton pump inhibitor. It thus reduces the amount of protons in the stomach acid, and thus reduce acidity, and hopefully reduces ulers, and reflux.
