I pass aspirin to a heart lenient, we travel to hospital & group near an catastrophe on the track. What do I do presently?

Since I have already given the patient aspirin, blood cannot clot now... So what's the alternative?
Answers:
Don't listen to Gary, ASA (aspirin) is a platelet aggregate inhibitor. This means that it prevents old clots from getting bigger and stops untried clots from forming. If the patient is seriously injured. Get the patient to the hospital as quickly as possible as here is an antidote for aspirin that the hospital should have lots of. In the mean time, remember your basic REDS

rest
elevation (above the heart if possible)
direct pressure (don't be afraid to improvise and really apply pressure)
and stabilize (above and below the injury) Source(s): paramedic student
The patient should be taken to the hospital where the effects of the aspirin can be reversed by giving platelet transfusion and DDAVP which will help to regain the platelet function.
If you are contained by the field apply pressure to bleeding areas. There is not much else you can do unless you are a health care professional within a hospital setting. Source(s): PA trauma/critical care
Tourniquet.

But also consider that an aspirin does not PREVENT blood from clotting, it singular slows it down. So you would have difficulty after the accident, but the situation is not impossible.

The best bet is to PREVENT the car calamity by calling 911 to transport the patient. accidents involving ambulances are MUCH more rare than automobile accident.
NEVER transport heart long-suffering yourself.
Call 911 - they have the staff and equipment to revive and resuscitate patient if necessary.
PS: aspirin slows clotting, but does not stop it. Source(s): RN - lots of MI [ heart attack ] victims die on road to hospital
