When do you use drizzling dressing (like hydrocolloid) and dry?

THis is very confusing. If the wound is oozing it says to use wet dressing and if its weeping to use dry. what does that tight-fisted exactly?!?!(a) And is exudate an issue? what do you do for that??

In EMT class they basically taught us to use wet dressings for avulsions, eviscerations, eye injuries, or other injuries that involve areas of the body that should be kept moist. Other than that, we a moment ago use dry dressings.

But we always use the pads that have a covering on them so that adjectives the little fibers don't get caught in the wound. Because then the surgeon who have to pick it all out will hate you forever. :) Source(s): I'm an EMT.
