What would transpire to someone shot contained by the side next to a glock?

I'm writing a book in which someone is killed by getting shot in the side (somewhere between the lungs and lower organs I guess) I want him to stay alive and conscious for at smallest a few minutes after but I don't really know enough about glocks/gunshot wounds to know how exactly he would die - does anyone know what would actually physiologically surface? Would he be able to talk? Go into shock? (if so, how quickly would that come about?)

Just want to make it as accurate as possible, I'd really appreciate any input.

Ha ha, that's an entertaining question. Ok, say he gets shot surrounded by the intestines, the acidity and uncleanliness of the now open organ contents will motivation him to go into septic shock. Not quite sure on the timing of that, but it is certain that he will bleed out if within is no help before that. Septic shock is pretty slow, so I would go near hypovolemia -> hypovolemic shock (fluid loss) instead. That can happen getting shock anywhere. It is also possible that he could have an abdominal evisceration, which just channel that some of his organ tissue will be exposed and protrude out of his skin. If he were to get shot in the lung nouns and pierce the lung, there would be bloody bubbles coming out of the wound. Followed slowly by trachial tugging (the trachea would pull to one side) and eventually mediastinal shift (it would stay to one side and the heart and lungs would pull next to it). He might also have JVD (jugular vein distention) which means the vein on the sides of his neck would bulge. Also, when you pushed on the top of his chest, around the collar bone, there would be a sound similar to rice krispies and possibly tiny visible bubbles. His skin would obviously be pale, but he would also be sweaty and cold and his pupils would dilate. If at hand was a punctured lung, he would also have obvious trouble breathing and would plausible speak brokenly for need to breathe. If there was satisfactory damage and blood loss, it could literally be minutes or even seconds before he would dance unconscious. He would likely be very animated for a few second and slowly become disoriented and pass out. He would slowly lose a pulse and breathing ability. If you don't want too much gore, then if you required to switch it to an upper leg wound where the bullet severed the femoral artery, then he would bleed out very swiftly still. Your story though.

I'm a paramedic student so if you have any more questions or want to know what a paramedic would do when they got in that you can email me.
For the purposes of the story and average chambering, the Glock would potential be chambered for 9mm. With a shot in the side of the mid to lower torso with a 9mm round, it doesn't much matter whether it is hollow point or FMJ, it is going to be incredibly bleeding, and incredibly nasty.

Consider two warships exchanging cannon shots on the high seas. One eventually maneuvers astern the other, and fires a shot right into the stern of the other ship. What happens? Instead of popping in one side and out the other, dangerous a few items and taking out a few gunners along the way, this ball slices from stern to bow, across the entire ship, cause no end of chaos in the lower deck, and destroying much of the ship, as well as killing many of the family down there. All with one shot.

You see, with a broadside shot, you lone have a few things in the line of fire. With a adjectives shot, you have half the crew and half the supporting structure within the line of fire.

Now, imagine the human body from the side. From this angle, it doesn't take much to wreak a lot of harm. The round, in adjectives probability, will puncture a lung first, possibly the intestines if it angles upon entry, some of the lesser digestive organs, the stomach, and that is only if it stops in that. Very nasty, very difficult to repair, especially considering all the blood flow within that area. Below the lungs, and you are hitting kidneys, liver, all things you do not want hit, and things that will put such a pain into a being as cannot be believed. This is going to be a lethal shot, and it is going to put the person in genuine agony.
Simple-minded guy here... It's substantially important that you tell us what charitable of Glock it is. A Glock 17? A Glock 30? The caliber is pretty important.

Assuming it was a 9mm, it'd depend on the adrenaline the guy has going through him. If he be hustling, and thoroughly scared out of his mind, he may not even feel it for a few moments, but inevitably, he will, and it will suck... lol.. An abdoment shot? Assuming he's not on something, when he feels it, the headache WILL bring him to the ground..

I don't know what happens when you incapacitate specific organs, hit the insetines, etc.. But I've seen a numerous number of security camera vids of armed robberies gone wrong, and the re-curring matter is to have the guy get shot, not react for a few moments (Only between 2-6 seconds), sometimes even capture out of the door of the store, but then fall flat on their stomache writhing and squirming on the ground.. Incapable of getting up, constructivly crawling in any direction, or even flipping themselves over...

Whether or not he could address depends on if he gets hit near either the lungs or diaphram.. If so, yeah he may not be capable of talk.. If not, he'll probably be screaming like a little girl.. Not relaxing, not hollywood "Last words" scene... Just screaming until they go by out from blood loss.

Sorry my response isn't as... scientific as others. Just saying what i've seen. Source(s): Firearm enthusiast.
