Though one listen from his ears, why orifice eyes serve to listen better?
Many a times when I am trying to sleep, or just closed my eyes, when I want to listen any sound, I found that opening eyes comfort me better to recognise the source of sound.

because by seeing lips seeing can add our audible range power
It gives feedback to the brain roughly speaking where you are in relation to the sound. Just similar to if you don't look out a window in a moving vehicle it can make you sick because the message the brain get that nothing is moving contradicts the message the inner ear gets that you are moving, and you get queasy.
While hearing any sound we want stereo effect. Two ears reveal the sound,its frequency,direction whence it is coming ,distance from us where sound is generate and its association with the person animal bird or the instrument making the sound. Eyes immaculately correlate all these aspects of sound.

LOL usually its the disparate..whn we wana focus on a sound we close our eyes..but may be u hear better when you have more than one sense organ working on it.
