Whats the strongest over the counter torment reliever or palliative?
tylenol, exedrin, advil, ect.. do not work. i fell of the back of a golf cart/4weeler thing. and cut up my back and arms valid bad. and my doctor wouldnt give me anything for it. whats something strong over the counter?
Answers:
As long as you can tolerate drugs like advil or aleve (NSAIDS), afterwards the advil would be most appropriate of the OTC drugs you mentioned. Tylenol won't do much at all and neither will the aspirin.
If these aren't controlling your pain adequately, ring your physician's answering service and perhaps they can order you something strong, even Rx in valise OTC meds don't control the pain sufficiently.
Good luck to you.
aspirin is better than acetominophen because it is also anti-inflamatory but i suspect excedrin may contain it
however it requires to be taken every 4 hours
diclophenac (Voltaren) tablets are very good but do not use the emulsion on wounds
You're not going to get much better than those without a prescription.I'd call your doctor again or catch a new doctor. Source(s): NJ RN
