A show of hand, how various of you get your problems solved on the first stop by to a doctor?
besides common cold and allergies that shouldn't even NEED more than one doctor visit, how many have other problems and did not have to go back to see their doctor for a second, third, fourth, time.

I need! If only they did a full eval instead of looking at a small part of you, they might get it right the first time. Then again, they don't receive as much money that way.
some things obligation more than 1 visit for a diagnosis. For example, a diagnosis of hypertension needs at least 2 separate reading (at different times), and most guidelines recommend at least 6 readings (and each one at most minuscule 1 weeks apart).
Other diseases present very similarly. A patient may come in near nausea, fatigue, and dizziness. This could be a GI bleed, an inner ear disorder, daytime manifestations of an insomnia, a migraine, etc.
And unfortunately, some diseases or problems can't be found by doing labs. I think doctors, patients, and adjectives practitioners wish it were possible to diagnose a patient correctly on the first pop in and start treatment as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it isn't always the case. Source(s): PharmD candidate
