Answers:
Acetaminophen (tylenol) is cleared by your liver. Any excessive r prolonged doses, or taken with alcohol for example, can be damaging to the liver.
Ibuprofen (advil, motrin) and Naproxin (alieve) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories that are cleared by your kidneys. Prolonged or excessive use of these can be hard on the kidney.
Too much aspirin can anti-coagulate your blood too much, making you susceptible to internal bleeding.
Both aspirin and anti-inflammatories can be tough on the stomach lining and should be taken with food.
The short answer- occasional use is fine- prolonged use of any of these....not so good.
They can be harmful when they're not used as directed. Tylenol can mar your liver if too much is used over a given period. Too much advil/motrin/aleve over a given period of time can cause irreversible mar to your kidneys. Some painkillers cause "rebound headaches" so they're not recommended at adjectives.
It depends on which kind of pill to figure out how/why it's potentially harmful. Truth be told, too much of a short time ago about anything in a given period of time is injurious. Source(s): G&G, Principles of Pharm.
