What solution do they use contained by blood smears-when staining the red blood cell?

It is 99% something solution (I just can't remember what!) added before adding the Wright stain and lowering the coverslip.

Thanks!!

While several techs just apply the Wright's stain to the blood smear, some procedures recommend that you immerse the smear in TRUE methanol first, allow to dry, then stain. Is this what you are referring to? I think 99% methanol is close enough to human being absolute, for this, at least.
Eosin
