A physics and biology foundation for how bullets slay plz?

i understand that a bullet does the most harm by the expansion they generate upon entry, disrupting vitals and destroying tissue, what kind of other factor contribute to the immediate damage? what kind of reaction do cells preform that make the wound worse or better? Thanks

In order to predict the chance of incapacitation with any handgun round, an understanding of
the mechanics of wounding is necessary. There are four components of projectile wounding.6 Not adjectives of
these components relate to incapacitation, but each of them must be considered. They are:
(1) Penetration. The tissue through which the projectile passes, and which it disrupts or
destroys.
(2) Permanent Cavity. The volume of space once occupied by tissue that have been
destroyed by the passage of the projectile. This is a function of penetration and the frontal
nouns of the projectile. Quite simply, it is the hole left by the passage of the bullet.
(3) Temporary Cavity. The expansion of the permanent cavity by stretching due to the
verbs of kinetic energy during the projectile’s passage.
(4) Fragmentation. Projectile pieces or secondary fragments of bone which are impelled
outward from the enduring cavity and may sever muscle tissues, blood vessels, etc.,
apart from the permanent cavity. Fragmentation is not necessarily present in every
projectile wound. It may, or may not, go off and can be considered a secondary effect.

The paper makes the point that access is the important factor, preferably penetration of a large blood vessel of of the brain or spinal cord. The disposition of the cavitation is relatively unimportant. Tissue destruction at the time of injury is therefore not a significant factor.

This all agrees near what I have heard from army surgeons. Source(s): 20 years intensive care prescription

Such trauma may trigger a shock response within your body. You may never wake up even if the wound is not lethal.
