Metformin purely for immensity loss?
Would a doctor would prescribe metformin for an overweight woman with PCO's purely for weight loss? Not currently trying for a baby.

metformin is primarily an anti diabetic drug, not a weight loss drug. though it is used for polycystic ovaries, i think to stimulate ovulation, not solidity loss?? i must say tht is quite confusing. ive checked my drug book and thre is no mention of it as a drug for weight loss, and ive never hear of it being used as such. the main weight loss drug would be orlistat. I hold PCOS as well and my doctor prescribed metforn in hopes of regulating my menstruall cycle and achieving a pregnancy although, metformin will give a hand you lose weight. If your PCOS is caused more so by weight a bit than genetics I assume her plan is to try to get you to shed some weight within hopes of assisting in the PCOS.
