What level would a Trauma Surgeon call for?
I am a high school student getting ready to jump to college and I'm trying to figure out what degree I would need to become a trauma surgeon.

One thing to add to Dr K's excellent answer: many of your patients don't earnings. The roll of 20's that they remove from the socks of the drug dealer who just got shot doesn't travel to pay your bills.
Heres what you would be looking at if your wanted to become a trauma surgeon:
1. 4 years of undergraduate
2. 4 years of medical School
3. 5 years of residency in general surgery
4. 2 years of specializing surrounded by trauma surgery
Also, you cannot forget that trauma surgeons have very difficult work hours and very gruesome work. Hope I help
You would want to finish High School, obviously. Then you would need to go to any College that offer a Pre-Med program, that is a four year Bachelor's Degree in either Biology or Chemistry, beside some other preparatory classes thrown in there. Then you would need another four year Medical School scope, either MD or DO. After that you would need to do a four to five year Surgical Residency, followed by some extra training to specialize in Trauma. So administer it like 8 years of school after High School.
