How is Methaqualoone made?

I am working on a report for my health class and I can't seem to find anywhere in a book or on the internet of how the drug, Methaqualone, is made. It is also prearranged as Quaalude and Sopor, if that helps anyone. I don't know if you grind up a leaf or something along that line to draw from it.
Thank you so much to all who answer and I wish everyone a happy spring! :)

Methaqualone is a fully synthetic compound, it is not derived from any sort of plant source. Producing it uses some extremely messy, advanced life chemistry, and includes several synthetic steps prone to explosions, depending on what starting materials are used. Messy only begins to describe the reaction steps surrounded by fact.

Basically, methaqualone is either synthesized clandestinely, or in big scale by a pharmaceutical company. Since the drug is banned virtually everywhere, there's almost no large extent production of it these days.
As one who got to use " ludes " for many yrs and am still desolate that the govt cut the supply to America off.
They are still made in India where the drug be 1st discovered, also they are made in Columbia, although not as much any more.
I could go on for ever and you'd get adjectives the material but typing this out is hard on these old hand.
There also was a analog of this drug called parest and was the hydrochloride, this come in 200mgs and 400mgs. the high was crap. Source(s): Roer 714 disco biskets and 60s-70s cocaine companion.
