How exactly does bulimia affect fertility?

I know it can but how exactly? Any doctors or just ery well informed people out in that know? Is it hormones it affects?

I mean when the bulimic individual is not underweight at all.

I understand why anorexics lose their period because they are so underweight they simply don't have the resources but if you are at a "healthy" weight I just can't get how they would be affected.

Please help if you can
Thanks!

Even after returning to what is considered an ideal counterbalance, more than half of these women experience a reproductive disorder....no menstrual bleeding and irregular periods. The problem is low levels of luteinizing hormone, it controls the cyclic pattern of the secretion of estrogen and progesterone. Even bulimics with regular menstrual bleeding have deficiencies surrounded by circulating regular hormone levels. I hope this information helps you.
