I have need of a serious answer in connection with antibiotics and my immune system?
I just came back from the doctors because I have this stye on my eye that became infected. I also had this scab on my foot that wouldn't heal. So, he prescribed an antibiotic call Cephalexin 500mg and some ointment called Triamcinolone .5%
I really hate taking medication and I avoid it as much as possible and prefer doing home remedies. I tried doing this with my eye but somehow it got infected and I finally went to the doctor. I'm really worried that if I start taking this medication, the antibiotics, it will produce me sick and lower my immune system. Can someone please help me to what I should do to prevent this. Thank you so much in advance. Also, another put somebody through the mill. I am to take this 4 times a day. It's 5pm and how should I space it out? Every 2 hours?
Answers:
Antibiotics are not used long adequate to cause a drastic lowering of your immune system. Immune system compromise will only occur if you pump your body full of antibiotics for long times. It is possible that you may procure slight reactions to the antibiotics, but that is normal; they should not budge beyond some mild discomfort. If you have a serious reaction, however, see your doctor immediately, because that may indicate an allergy.
4 times a sunshine means once every 6 hours. Take one at 5 pm, then one at 11 pm. Then take one when you rouse up in the morning (preferably before 9 am, best if it is at 7 or 8 am), and then whip it again at around 1 or 2 pm. It doesn't have to be exactly 6 hours apart, just don't take more than 4 a daytime. If you only got the medicine at a infallible time, start the 24-hour cycle from that time onwards.
Make sure you finish the course, though; otherwise, you could start to induce resistance in the infecting organisms, and have it return at a later date.
