What characteristics a doctors must own and why?
Answers:
They need patience, integrity, honesty, sympathy, smart, trustworthy, tolerant, + unshakable.
My dad is a gastrointerologist (stomach doctor) and my mom is a Pediatric nurse. My dad have to go to 10 YEARS of college and my mom 2.
Knowledgeable, friendly, outgoing - you can discuss beside patients about the diseases or treatments or what you are doing.
There are probably lots more. Oh, and you can't be totally afraid of blood and guts, and you need to be willing to hear around people's extensive problems in detail :)
The biggest one is....
PATIENCE- all doctors must have an extraordinary amount of patience. We progress through endless amounts of people who have a mile long chronicle about their littlest problems. Not only do you hear that mile list of problems, but you hear numerous amounts of them too. Also, if you would close to to become a surgeon, not everything goes according to plan and you need the patience to work around a problem.
INGENUITY- Like I stated earlier, if you would like to become a doctor especially a surgeon, you will need to display ingenuity. There is not a day that I do not encounter a problem, whether its a broken coffee tool, LOL, to a surgical procedure that went wrong and could be fatal if not fixed right on the spot.
Most important? Probably that they be meticulous, compassionate, and truly interested in the livelihood.
Being intelligent helps, but I'd take a careful doctor over a brilliant but thoughtless one any day.
