Do you think if Bush had he been told he be dying in say 2 years and stem cell research could save him would he still vetoed the research? also what other countries are doing stem cell research?

I doubt that would correction his official stance on the issue. In fact, I'd wager he would play the card and use the situation to bolster his position on embryonic stem cell research while privately being treated.

I'm not sure exactly which countries are doing embryonic research, but most industrialized countries are doing some stem cell research. I know Venezuela have had some of the best results when it comes to spinal cord and nerve repair; but they do it with full-size stem cells taken from the patients.
