Diagnostic Medical Sonography, how much math does it REALLY envolve?
I just started looking into diagnostic medical sonography (ultrasound) and I was told alot of math is involved? Is this true? I am not a big math person, and I don`t know I am just naive but it seems close to most of the job is dealing with people, and putting the transducer on the forgiving and listening for the sounds of it and determining what the screen shows... am I totally off? if you hold info. on what the job is like that would be GREAT! and if you can let me know how much math is involved... gratefulness!

Well, I'm not an US tech, so I don't know what they have to learn in training, but within practice, I don't see them having to do a lot of calculations themselves, the electrical device does the math. Which isn't to say it's easy, ultrasound is more of a art than a science, and getting a good panorama is often not very easy, it's not some cushy opportunity you can just breeze into, but whatever math (if any) is involved isn't going to be the hard module.
