What substitute can you use for cleaning and disinfecting solution for contact lenses?
I have contact lenses in and i dont have any soution to put them within
Answers:
Don't. Doing so can lead to dangerous fungal infections of the eye. Only use sterile cleansing solutions, they are available at any grocery store or pharmacy.
Nothing. Nothing disinfects, kills microbes, removes protein, moisturizes, and stores you contacts besides cotnact solutions. However, you could choose between Multi-Purpose Solutions or Hydrogen Peroxide Solutions.
The difference you ask? Hydrogen Peroxide solutions don't require you to rub and rinse, needs to be neutralized (usually through pills) for usually 6 hours before putting your contacts final in (YES IT WILL HURT IF YOU DON'T), it also tends to do a better job at cleaning, for myself, i find that CIBAvisions owen hydrogen peroxide solution, ClearCare cleans, feel, and has the best clarity for me out of all solutions. Also, no preservatives are required in HP solutions, no preservatives=Eyes can be in good health.
Multi-purpose solutions required rub and/or rinsing. It doesn't need to be neutralized like HP solutions. It could also be used to re-moisturize your lenses if they achieve dry. Just rub, and place them in solution for a couple of minutes and you're good to go again. For myself, i find CIBAVision SoloCare AQUA (Aquify Multi-Purpose Solution) works the best for me. Opti-Free Replenish and Express comes right astern it. Source(s): Personal Experience
