Penicillin injected into foods?

I've heard that (I don't remember where) penicillin is injected into foods -like fruits - to make them grow bigger or something.

The reason I'm asking is because I've be getting the hives and I don't know what from. The only other thing I can think of is anyone all-of-a-sudden allergic to my cat :/

No, penicillin is not injected into foods.
In some places however, they used to feed antibiotics to chickens surrounded by their fed to stop them getting illnesses and make them grow bigger. I'm not sure how widespread this is anymore.
