What is the aim why SSRI's and other antidepressants bring weightiness gain?

Answers:
There are various reasons. One is that a sign of depression often is consignment loss and/or reduced appetite. So it makes sense that if a person went on a SSRI or other antidepressant and they regain their appetite they may gain some weight.

The other reasons are extensions of the pharmacology of these drugs. One new assumption is that atypical antipsychotics (often used as adjunctive therapy in depression) may directly affect fat cell. Source(s): PharmD candidate
I'm not sure that is true. I always lose more or less twenty pounds within a month of taking one. Which is one reason why I won't take them. That's abundantly of weight to lose if you're still doing it two or three months later.
