Name every Physician Specialty who works contained by the Intensive Care Unit?
Answers:
There are critical care specialists who are internists, anesthesiologists, and pediatricians. It is a subspecialty of all three. Of course, general pediatricians, internists, and even FP docs sometimes muddle through patients in the ICU. Specialty ICUs like surgical, cardiac, etc patients are managed by doesn`t matter what specialist is in the name.
Of course any appropriate specialist can be called to consult. Today we have a patient in the ICU in renal dud and we consulted a nephrologist. We had another patient who tried killing himself and consulted psychiatry. Really most specialties could be call to an ICU. Source(s): med student
