Getting a Brain MRI.?

Ok well im having some problems and my neurosurgeon Ordered a Brain MRI scan and a MRI scan of my cervical spine.I have previously have a MRI of my upper spine and neck.But now he is ordering the collar again and my brain.Will i need contrast for my brain.How long should it take until i can get the MRI done

You should not skulk. Neurosurgeons do not order these tests casually, nor to " cover their ***" as various people seem to believe.

Whether you need contrast or not depends on what he is worried in the region of. There is an extremely low risk associated with contrast. If he wants contrast, he will probably order some blood work to manufacture sure your kidneys are functioning normally. If he has not ordered lab work, you are probably not going to get contrast.
