Why do I own chest pains from taking birth control?
Not too long ago I started taking birth control. After the 3rd day I started getting really bad chest pain. Is it freshly a side effect or could it be something serious?
Answers:
i dont think thats a side affect.
but if youve had the torment for more than 3 days id go to the doctor.
Oral contraceptive therapy can put patients into what is known as a "hypercoagulable state." This means that it is easier for blood clots to form contained by the major vessels in the body, e.g. the vast veins of the legs (DVT) or the coronary arteries (MI). Chest pain is NEVER NORMAL and usually a sign of something dangerous going on. See a doctor and be sure to update her/him about the new medication. Source(s): medical student
Get your blood pressure checked asap. asap. asap.
My doctor told me that breast distress is common because birth control will cause your breast to swell and possibly get larger. But she also told me to scrutinize out for pains in these specific areas....legs, stomach, chest, and neck. Contact your doctor if you have any of these, or really fruitless headaches as it could be a sign of blood clotting. Blood clotting was known a deeply long time ago to be given to a women on birth control. They suspected it was the birth controls fault. Its better to find out before it get any worse and becomes serious. :-) Source(s): My Doctor! :-)
I've been on birth control for over 6 months and the worse side effect I've ever have was nausea, which my dad (a pathologist) said was because the pills work by tricking your body into thinking it's pregnant so it was approaching morning sickness. It went away when I switched to a different type of pill. Since chest pains aren't normally related to pregnancy, I don't give attention to it's a normal side effect. I think you should call your doctor.
Maybe it's serious, ask your doctor or something. Hope all works out all right, take care & good luck
