Do IUD's create abortion?
i question if IUD's PREVENT pregnancy when actually, the ovum
is ALREADY fertilized before it hits the uterus. The IUD prevents
implantation..so tecnically, isn't it ABORTIVE ?
Answers:
I agree next to the first author. I'm not a Gyn but my understanding is that there are two types of IUDs.
The first one is just copper coated and the second also releases progestins. The copper coated ones sort the environment very uncomfortable for the sperm so that fertilization is made nearly impossible. The second type suppress ovulation as well so that there's no egg to fertilize.
In neither grip is the ovum already ferlitized according to my understanding of the IUDs mechanism. Source(s): http://www.wisegeek.com/how-do-iuds-work…
I don't think so...
How the doctors explain it to me. The IUD prevents the sperms to travel any further surrounded by to the uterus. They don't go into your Fallopian tubes. They prevent your 'eggs' from getting fertilized.
Well that's how they explain it to me.
