Can someone trace the tract of one of the cranial nerves?

Im thinking since its a peripheral nerve, it must be a sensory nerve so the stimulus, doesn`t matter what it may be, is sensed somewhere in the periphery, and then it travels from dendrites, cell body to axons and ends up in the brain somewhere (thalamus) probably and after your brain tells you what you just sensed.
Answers:
Which cranial nerve? Some cranial nerves are sensory, some are motor and some are both. Some take autonomic fibers. Each cranial nerve has a very extremely rare path.

An example would be cranial nerve 2. Senses polarization of the retinal ganglion cells which travels through the optic nerve-->optic chiasm-->optic tract-->Lateral geniculate nucleus of the thalamus-->optic radiations-->primary ocular cortex (occipital lobe).

...That is one of the easier ones because it is strictly sensory and the pathway doesn't branch anywhere. A person could take a semester class on the cranial nerves and still not be an expert.
