If you chew birth control pills or dissolve them do they still work ?
i cant swallow pills so i need to know if you can dissolve this or chew it?? and wud it still work if i did

this is way weird but several studies show that if you put them within your vagina and let them dissolve they work the same...dissolving may be okay but I know you aren't supposed to chew them
btw, what kind do you own? I take ortho-tricyclen lo and they're super super tiny, I don't even need water, I know they also not long introduced a chewable birth control pill, you may want to search that I don't remember what it's called
It should still work. Birth control pills are not controlled release - they dissolve hurriedly in your stomach, so it shouldn't matter if you chew it before swallowing it. It might rob a while to dissolve in in water to drink it, though.
However, if you chew it, it will probably essence bad. There are other options for hormonal birth control, including the patch, the Depo Provera shot, the Mirena IUD, and the Norplant implant. These might be better option than chewing pills every night.
At any rate, birth control pills are small, maybe 1/4 the size of the eraser on a pencil, so it might be a good start for you to revise to accept swallowing pills.
