I took antibiotics is it ok to drink?

I took Sulfameth and Cephalexin antibiotics, I haven't taken any in two days is it ok to drink beer?
Answers:
Counter acts them.Don't.
If you have not taken them in a few days then you are okay. The explanation they say not to drink and take antibiotics/medication is because it puts a strain on your liver. It can not produce enough bile to digest both the medication and the alcohol, which is what can gross you sick and cause other serious problems.

You are okay if you haven't taken the antibiotic in two days. Please make sure you are not taking other medication as well.

Hope that helps
A lot of people think that the caution not to drink on antibiotics is because it will make them sick or get drunk much easier (probably because they think the liver will be too busybreaking down the medication to agreement with the drink).

The actual reason is simply because the alcohol will decrease the value of the antibiotics. Source(s): Former med student
